The Pendower development application result has gone public at last. The outcome: Application withdrawn.
The links below are to documents posted on the Cornwall Council planning portal at the end of February. The first link is to the formal withdrawal notice. The second is to the planning officer’s reasons for refusal if the application isn’t withdrawn, and required conditions for any future development proposals.

The application is considered a major development within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is therefore not acceptable, in accordance with National Planning Policy Framework policies. It must be significantly reduced in scale and “unfettered residential dwellings … would not be supported by officers” because of policy conflicts applicable to the site.
This is a great result and a tribute to all those who supported our campaign. People far and wide and national and local organisations joined forces to ensure that Pendower remains a protected site. Of the comments received, 539 were objections, 12 in support.
BUT OUR CAMPAIGN ISN’T OVER YET.
Further proposals will certainly be submitted sooner or later. We’ll continue to need your support to ensure that whatever happens next respects the special beauty of Pendower.
